I showed up in front of the Federal Building, 400 S. Virginia St. with the "Essential Sequential Five" Panels only to be confronted by a security guard who wanted to call his supervisor to see if this "demonstration" would be OK.
He showed me the corner where the Sierra Interfaith Action for Peace has their vigil on Mondays. So I set about holding two Peace Panels by myself. Then Steve came by and offered to hold one. And then there were three. And then a young lady named Tuesday came by and offered to hold one and we made it up to four Peace Panels exhibited on the corner from 4:30 to 5:30 pm last Friday. We got good reactions from the crowd. It felt good to make this statement. It turned out the security supervisor didn't mind.

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSUChico outreach/class
In an effort to raise awareness of some censored issues, increase activism, and remind other members of our community about the Chico Peace & Justice Center, I conducted my third class entitled "Censorship in the USA" yesterday. We had a good group, ten, attentive participants that made it through my 45 minute presentation that included Power Point, a little video ("Why do we need 800 military bases overseas?"), show cards, mini Peace Panels, and hand outs. I got a modest applause at the end and a robust Q&A. The next and final class for the season in, Chico, is next Tuesday at 3 pm in Gordon 2 behind Craig Hall. All are welcome at no charge. Come on down.
