Less pollution, David Swanson and Daniel Ellsgerg

Yesterday was a day and a half! Woke up at 4:30 am and headed to Napa. Scored an '82 Chevy Luv diesel mini pick up! My days of needing to go to the gas station are numbered. You all know one of the main hits on the planet is burning gasoline. From now on, all I will need is old cooking oil, (bio-diesel). No to multi national corporations and no war required. Then I went to the S.F. Library and got to hear a discussion between 2015 Nobel Peace Prize nominee David Swanson and Daniel Ellsberg of Pentagon Papers fame. It was inspiring! What I got out of the event with David Swanson and Daniel Ellsberg was, among other things, 1. We are fighting 7 wars now, 5 with boots on the ground. With drones we are making more enemies than we are killing. 2. Let's make war and war profiteering shameful. 3. Take our protests to the media headquarters. The offices of your local newspaper if they are lying. 4. It is sad that 55,000 Americans died in Vietnam, but don't forget 6 million Asians died too. Based on a lie. 5. One of the ways we are paying for our over militarized foreign policy is the gradual normalization of the militarization of our home town police. We are at a point where our militarized police see us as the enemy instead of fellow citizens. 6. Protests have a good effect.

Farmer's Market

The Peace Panel Project shared a booth with the Chico Tree Advocates, Saturday, at the Farmer's Market, under the old Magnolia tree. We were spreading the word about the up-coming City Council vote on whether to fund the City Tree Crew more or not. You know we have lost more trees than have been planted recently. Let's call our City Councilors and ask them to fund the tree crew more! We need more pruning and planting!
